For the last few years I have entered a team to run in the Birkett at Silverstone, which is a relay race for all types of race cars. The race, which takes its name from the original orchestrator, Holland Birkett, has been run every year since 1951 and is organised by the 750 Motor Club. There is a hugely different grid of cars, from historic through to current, and this is evened out by a handicap system. My team, ‘Birgate Again’, is made up of friends whom I have raced with for many years and we race in Caterhams, a development of the original Lotus 7. We had previously come 2nd and 3rd in class before but this year we managed to win the class and come overall 2nd out of the 65 teams involved!
Pitti
The menswear show in Florence is considered by many as the best in the world and it certainly provides a great venue to watch the Italian male peacocks in this wonderful Italian city.
As in the photo above, the double breasted trench coat and short slim trousers with large turn ups are typical sights.
Staufenberger
Here’s a series of photos from a cycling project I did with a company called Staufenberger & Butte. We created a tweed and had it woven in Huddersfield and went on to develop a range of tailored garments to include jackets, plus 2′s and gilets.
Oliver’s Bike

OJB socks
Our socks are some of the finest made socks anywhere in the world. Made in Italy by the same craftsmen that make for Brioni, these socks clearly reflect the company ethos that we have worked by since founding the company in 1996: elegance, style and craftmanship. Colourful, but also subtle, these socks will not only be supremely comfortable but additionally will aid the sorting of washing and pairing.
